YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Two of Yorktown's own will get a chance to delight audiences in the Random Farms Kids Theater adaptation of DreamWorks' "Shrek: The Musical" at Tarrytown Music Hall.
About 130 young people from all over Westchester and the tri-state area will perform in several shows from July 26 to Aug. 4 at the Tarrytown Music Hall. "Shrek: The Musical" brings to the stage the story of an ogre who has to rescue a feisty princess. Featured in one of the show's four casts will be 11-year-old Madison Battinelli and 10-year-old Faith Pyle.
Madison said the show features all of her favorite things about musicals.
"I really love meeting kids from all over and being part of a cast which is like a team," said Madison, who is set to enter Mildred E. Strang Middle School in the fall. "I love learning the songs and dances and best of all I love being on stage under the lights performing for an audience."
"I love being friends with all of the kids in the cast and I love being on stage singing and acting," Faith said.
Madison plays one of Lord Farquaad's guard and Faith plays the role of Humpty Dumpty.
Tickets for Shrek are $18 (adults), $16 (children under 12 and seniors), $14 (groups of 20+) and $10 (camps). Premium seating tickets (first four rows of center orchestra) are $23.
