A group of women in Yorktown continue the tradition of meeting for dinner to share stories and history. Debbie Procino, Carolyn Turiano, Tina Cerar, Natalie Bocian, Adrian Bonifacio and Debbie Scherrer met at Piatto Grille for a night of laughs and reminiscing they have all been neighbors for at least 10 years and many are at the 25 year mark living on Mark Road.
Jesse Hoffman and Rosie Russo are engaged. Jesse and Rosie are very involved with Relay for Life. Jesse spoke about his mom last year at the Luminaria Ceremony for Relay for Life and Rosie was by his side. They have a long happy life ahead of them creating memories. It is nice to see nice things happen to nice people. Blessings to them both.
Speaking of blessings, Bishop Lagonegro proceeded over the confirmations in Yorktown. A conformant, Caleigh Scanlon had joked all week that when the Bishop said "May peace be with you" she would respond "And may the force be with you." I was in the back of the church before confirmation and was able to speak to the bishop and could tell he had a sense of humor. I told him about what Caleigh wanted to say to him. The Bishop got a sparkle in his eye and asked her name and her sponsors name. And yes, Bishop Lagonegro said and may the force be with you to Caleigh. She had the biggest smile and snicker on her face when she came off the alter, laughing with her sponsor Ashling Scanlon. It was truly a moment she and the Bishop will never forget.
This is a week when we can all count our blessings. A smile, an acknowledgment, a hand written card, a phone call can brighten up a persons day. Try it this week. Smile and say Thank you all around Yorktown. It can become contagious and what a difference we can make with just a little effort. Try it I guarantee you will like it! Happy Thanksgiving Neighbors!
