YORKTOWN, N.Y. - A Yorktown resident is doing a summer internship at the New England regional office of a worldwide engineering firm.

Leonard Lustrino, a civil engineering major at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute who expects to earn a master's degree at the end of this year, is one of more than 130 students selected at Burns & McDonnell based on their academic record and skillset.

"Our internship program is an opportunity for us to recruit talented, energetic students and help them develop their own career path in their industry," said Burns & McDonnell Human Resources Generalist Marisol Velazquez.

As part of his internship, Lustrino works in the field with a project management team supervised by Burns & McDonnell.

"Working at Burns & McDonnell this summer will provide excellent insight into the field of engineering consulting," Lustrino said. "This, combined with my past internships and education, will really help me understand the daily activities and responsibilities that the construction industry demand."
