Yorktown's Jim Smith Karate Represents Team America

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Hanshi Jim Smith of Jim Smith Karate recently represented Team America in San Juan, Puerto Rico, at the Best of the Best Championships.

Smith won his division and went on to win the Grand Championship in Kata. Smith has been teaching, training, competing and coaching karate for 57 years, despite his battles with surgeries, kidney failure and bladder cancer.

Hanshi is now preparing for competitions in Argentina and Thailand with Team America.
