AFC Urgent Care Hosts Teddy Bear Festival

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- It was fun for all and not a bit scary visiting the doctor when children from the Pied Piper preschool were recently invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal or doll to American Family Care (AFC) Urgent Care’s Ted E. Bear Fair for evaluation and treatment by the center’s “teddy bear clinicians."

The fair gave children a chance to familiarize themselves with an urgent care environment, as well as with the staff and procedures.

Organized by AFC Urgent Care’s Outreach staff and the school, the event provided children with a fun activity and valuable information, helping to alleviate any fears they may have of the healthcare environment.

During the event, bears and other furry patients received bandage treatments, x-rays and full check-ups.
