YORKTOWN, N.Y. - A Yorktown resident who was being processed for driving while intoxicated by Yorktown police found himself in more trouble recently.
According to police, at approximately 11:15 p.m.May 10, Michael Maurno, 21, of Wildwood Court, was in the booking room at police headquarters after being arrested and charged with DWI when Police Officer Mark Rapisarda allegedly observed him break two benches.
Maurno was charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and was issued an appearance ticket for June 12 in Yorktown Town Court.

Sears Theft: Rose Drago-Pluchos, 61, of Carmel, was arrested and charged with petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor, May 19 by Police Officer Christopher O'Rourke after she allegedly exited Sears without paying for assorted women's clothing valued at $159.
False Identity: At 2:12 p.m. May 16, a caller reported a registered sex offender walking on West Road. The suspect was identified as a male, 5'10", balding, wearing shorts. Upon investigation, individual was not on sex offender list.
Car Vandalism: A t 2:03 a.m. Friday, a caller from New Chalet Drive reported finding front car window smashed and wallet and other items stolen from inside.
Early Celebration?: A t 9:45 p.m. Saturday, police received a report of fireworks being shot off on Evergreen Street. The area was checked and all was quiet.
