- Yorktown Police charged a 19-year-old Mahopac woman with nine counts of criminal possession of stolen property, officials said.
- Ten Westchester County schools were named to Newsweek's top 500 schools recently. Newsweek enlisted the help of research specialists at Westat to help compile their rankings.
- Several Westchester golf clubs denied President Obama's request to play a round of golf during his Labor Day Weekend visit to the area, WNBC-TV is reporting.
- Two chickens were apparently mutilated and subsequently dumped in a parking lot for a Mahopac gas station, according to the Putnam County SPCA.
