MOHEGAN LAKE, N.Y. - YCP TheaterWorks will be holding auditions for its production of "On Golden Pond" Aug. 28 and 30 at 7:30 p.m. at John C. Hart Library in Shrub Oak.
Performances of Ernest Thompson's drama that encompasses universal family themes such as aging, regret, disappointment, love, resentment and forgiveness, are scheduled for early November at the Van Cortlandtville Elementary School Theater on Route 6 in Mohegan Lake.
Characters in the play include Norman Thayer, a retired school principal nearing his 80th birthday; Ethel Thayer, Norman's 69-year-old wife; Chelsea Thayer Ray, the Thayer's daughter in her mid-40s; Billy Ray Jr., 13-year-old son of Chelsea's fiance; Bill Ray, Chelsea's fiance in his mid-40s; and Charlie Martin, mid-40-year-old mailman and town gossip.
