Single-ride bus fares will increase from $2.25 to $2.50. Fares for seniors and the disabled, who show the proper identification, will go from $1.10 to $1.25, the release said.
The 30-day unlimited MetroCard will go from $104 to $112, while the price for seniors and the disabled will increase from $52 to $56.
The seven-day unlimited-ride MetroCard will increase from $29 to $30 and from $14.50 to $15 for seniors and the disabled, the release said.
However, the bonus discount threshold on MetroCard will reduce from $10 to $5.
“The amount of the discount will be reduced to 5 percent, from the current 7 percent,” said Greene. “This thereby reduces the effective cost of a single ride to $2.38.”
There will not be a change in price for the Westchester to Manhattan Express.
In addition to the price increases, there will also be Spring Service schedule changes effective Monday, the release said.
