YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A pair of broken water mains disrupted service Tuesday, but have been repaired and will not require a boil-water advisory, according to local officials.

According to the town's Water Department, one of the breaks was reported at Phoenix House on Stony Street in Shrub Oak and the other near the corner of Susan Court and Bound Brook Lane.

While officials did not say what caused the main breaks, the damage was said to have been repaired.

Those who experience brown or discolored water or air in the pipes are asked to run the cold water until the discoloration passes, officials said.

Anyone with questions or concerns should call the Water Department at 914-245-6111.
