YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. --  For the third time in just over a year, the CVS at the Triangle Shopping Center in Yorktown has been hit by a vehicle.

The latest incident occurred around 1:10 p.m. Wednesday when a driver, who may have been suffering from a medical condition, slammed into the side of the drug store, said Yorktown Police Lt. Tom Gentner.

Yorktown Heights Fire Department responded and found the car door stuck closed.  Firefighters extricated the driver from the car.

No one was injured and the building's only damage included a few cracks and scuffs, Gentner said.

The building department was called to inspect the damage and make sure the building was structurally safe.

The driver was taken to a local hospital for unknown medical issues.

In other incidents: Five people were injured in May 2016 when another driver plowed through the entrance, leaving behind a 10-foot-wide by 15-foot-long hole in the wall.

And in February, police believe a vehicle backed into the building severing the high-pressure gas main to the building, but quick work by first responders saved the building and potentially the downtown structures around it.
