The service for Flynn, who died Oct. 20 at the age of 91, was held in the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi and attended by around 100 people.
Flynn is a former Mount Kisco resident. He served as the pastor of St. John the Baptist Church in Yonkers and St. Gregory the Great Church in Harrison.
At the funeral, Dolan led several prayers and gave communion to attendees.
Peace of the Lord be with you all, he said.
One clergy member who spoke recalled Flynns mentoring role and noted his tenures at churches in Yonkers and Harrison.
Flynn was ordained as a priest in 1948 and retired when he was 85, it was noted.
At the conclusion of the service, clergy formed lines outside of the churchs main entrance as pallbearers moved Flynns casket to a hearse.
After the service, Dolan met with attendees and posed for pictures.
Charles Duffy, a Lewisboro resident and nephew of Flynns, shared his memories of him.
He was at every one of our family functions, he said.
Duffy, a former Lewisboro supervisor, added: He was a mainstay in our family.
He was also pleased with Dolans visit.
I think it was wonderful, said Duffy, who grew up in Mount Kisco and lived near the church. Duffy also brought up that Flynn was the first priest who was ordained out the local church.
Duffy is not the only relative to have served in local elected office. He recalled that Flynns brother, Richard Flynn, was a Mount Kisco mayor and Westchester County legislator. The Mount Kisco police station has his name on it. Additionally, Duffy noted that Flynns father, Daniel Flynn, Sr., served as an acting Mount Kisco mayor.
