Metro Nashville Police tweeted just after 2 p.m. Monday that Travis Reinking had been "arrested moments ago."

Murder warrants were being drawn up, authorities said.

Reinking was caught in a wooded area barely two miles from the restaurant where he opened fire with a semiautomatic AR-15 around 3:25 a.m. Sunday, they said.

The Tennessean reported several gunshots heard Monday morning behind a church in Antioch that was surrounded by law enforcement.

A citizen earlier Monday found a laptop bag that was empty "except for a handwritten ID card bearing the name Travis Reinking," police reported. "Unknown whether it was discarded before or after the shooting."

Original report:

A national alert has been issued as a manhunt continued for a 29-year-old man who authorities said fled after shooting and killing four people at the Waffle House in Antioch, Tennessee, on Sunday, April 22.

Travis Jeffrey Reinking is 6-foot-4, 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.

He entered the Waffle House at around 3 a.m. armed with a semiautomatic AR-15, wearing only a jacket. James Shaw Jr., a male patron in the restaurant, wrestled the rifle away from Reinking and tossed it over a counter Reinking then fled on foot before returning home to put on a pair of pants before fleeing again.

Two other victims in the shooting are hospitalized in stable condition.

Reinking is known to travel beyond Tennessee. Last summer, he was arrested last year for being in a restricted area near the White House.

Police currently have no clues as to where Reinking might now be.

Anyone who sees Reinking should not approach him, but immediately call 911.
