Clerk Burned, Beaten in Attempted Yorktown Robbery

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A clerk at Courtesy Mobil had hot coffee thrown in his face and was beaten with a plastic bottle early in an attempted robbery Tuesday morning, Yorktown Police said.

According to Lt. Soravilla of the Yorktown Police Department, a man beat the clerk working at 1770 East Main St. and demanded he open the cash register at around 2:06 a.m. Tuesday.

The robber left in what police believe was a gray Nissan. No cash was taken. The clerk was taken to Hudson Valley Medical Center for treatment and was released.

Police are currently investigating in the incident and ask anyone with information to call 914-962-4141.
