YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A 24-year-old Cortlandt Manor resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with reportedly a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or more.
Police said Michael A. Montes was found asleep in a running vehicle parked on Downing Drive on July 22 at approximately 2:35 a.m. Police alleged that Montes was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition and arrested him at the scene. At Yorktown Police Headquarters, police issued a chemical test that found Montes had operated the vehicle with a BAC of .08 percent or more. He was processed and issued an appearance ticket, before being rereleased on his own recognizance and is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on August 23 at 6 p.m.

- One Shrub Oak man, and another Mohegan Lake man are under arrest for charges of assault in the third degree, misdemeanors. According to a police, on July 13 at 7:07 p.m. a male resident from Lake Peekskill reported the larceny of a cell phone while at the Jefferson Valley Mall. According to a police investigation, the mans phone was stolen while he was outside the mall, and he had been injured when he fell to the ground while grabbing the suspects vehicle when it fled the scene, operated by an unidentified male suspect. The unidentified vehicle was driven by an 18-year-old from Mohegan Lake. The man who allegedly stole the phone was identified as Daniel Gressel, a 20-year old from Shrub Oak, who was also charged with petty larceny.
Police arrested both males on July 22 at 10:40 p.m. when they were reportedly seen on Route 6 in Mohegan Lake. Both men were released after paying bail at $250 each, and an order of protection was issued on the victims behalf. Both males are scheduled to appear in court on July 26 at 6 p.m.
- A Croton-on-Hudson man was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear for his original charge of providing alcohol to a minor. According to police, Michael R. Schmidt, 23, allegedly failed to appear in Yorktown Justice Court for an appearance for allegedly providing alcohol for a minor. Yorktown Police responded to the Croton Police Department on July 24 and placed Schmidt under arrest. He was released from Yorktown after posting $250 bail. He is due to appear in court August 23, 6 p.m.
