UPDATE, Wednesday, 7:45 p.m. - Hours after a one car accident closed Route 35, the road remains closed as utility crews work to fix down wires. A Yorktown Police officer said the department was told the road may reopen at 9 p.m. Wednesday. Neither Con Edison nor NYSEG have power outrages reported for the area.
YORKTOWN, N.Y.--Nobody was injured after a car crashed into a telephone pole on Saw Mill Road at around 3 p.m. Wednesday, Yorktown Police said.
Yorktown Police Lt. Kevin Soravilla said a woman apparently crashed into a telephone pole on Route 35 - also known as Saw Mill Road - near Quaker Church Road. There was nobody else in the car at the time of the accident.
Police were on scene directing traffic off Saw Mill Road near Evergreen Street Wednesday afternoon.
Soravilla said the driver was alright after the accident.
"She had no injuries and I believe she was transported home," Soravilla said.
The Yorktown Heights Fire Company and the Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corp were also on the scene of the accident.
