First Aid Workshop For Teens Slated In Yorktown

YORKTOWN, N.Y. - Local teenagers are encouraged to attend a free first aid workshop being offered by the American Red Cross at the Yorktown Teen Center in two weeks.

The workshop, which is from 5-7 p.m. Aug. 23 at the center, 1974 Commerce St., is open to kids between ages 11-14 and is limited to 30 participants.

According to Helena Rodriguez of the teen center, the presentation will teach three actions for emergency preparedness -- get a kit, make a plan and be informed. It also teaches participants to prevent and respond to emergencies they are most likely to encounter.

For more information, contact Rodriguez at (914) 441-0132 or helena@yorktowntc.org.
