Injuries Minor in Yorktown School Bus Accident

YORKTOWN, N.Y. - Elementary school children were traveling in a mini-bus Wednesday morning when the bus was involved in what was described as a minor accident at the intersection of Stoney Street and the Bear Mountain Parkway.

The children were taken to Hudson Valley Hospital Center for observation.

The crash, which State Police at Hawthorne referred to as "as minor as an accident can be," took place at approximately 8:45 a.m. Police said the most serious injury to one child was a knee scrape.

Police declined to provide further details of the accident. A spokesperson for the Yorktown Central School District also offered limited information, and would not reveal how many children were on the Baumann bus company vehicle, or the name of the school where they were headed.
