Jefferson Valley Bank Sold to First Niagara

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- HSBC Bank USA has sold 195 of its retail branches, including the one located in the Jefferson Valley Mall.

Employees at the Jefferson Valley location would not comment on the sale, however information posted on the HSBC website said the banks have been sold to First Niagara.

“HSBC Bank USA is pleased to be working with First Niagara on this transaction, given its strong commitment to relationship banking and its historic roots in the region,” read an announcement posted on the website.

The announcement noted that all branches involved in the transaction will remain open throughout the transition to First Niagara.

“We've been proud to serve the Upstate New York community for many years and look forward to continuing our engagement in the region through a strong commercial and corporate banking presence,” said Niall Booker, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HSBC North America.

Information intended for customers posted on the HSBC website stressed that customers do not need to take any action and all banking arrangements would be transferred seamlessly.
