The paper adds that Kraus will meet with Schraufnagel later that evening, which will be done as part of the town court's regular criminal session.
Schraufnagel, who worked at Greeley from 2003 to 2015, pleaded guilty in early August to three misdemeanor-level counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Of the counts, Schraufnagel admitted to two instances of them involving sexual contact with students, with the third involving non-sexual contact.
The deal, which was agreed to with the consent of the student accusers and the Westchester County District Attorney's office, calls for Schraufnagel to serve three years worth of probation and to submit to monitoring similar to that of a sex offender. However, the deal does not require Schraufnagel to formally register as a sex offender; Kraus expressed concern about this provision in a letter filed later in August.
