YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Events at the Hilltop Farm and Environmental Center have been announced.
The Farm Stand opens on Fridays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All vegetables are grown on the farm without the use of pesticides, herbicides or synthesized fertilizers. Visit the website for weekly availability.
The public can harvest organically-grown vegetables during the U-Pick vegetable operation on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with weather permitting. Visit website for weekly availability.
Spinning and knitting group sessions will be held on Sunday, June 1, and Saturday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. No fee or registrations are required for first-time attendees. For more information, click here.
Jam-making sessions will be held on Saturday, June 7, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Barn F. Registration is required and costs $25 per person or $10 per child aged eight to 12.
The Father’s Day hike around the Hilltop Hanover will take place on Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to noon. The two-hour hike through the woods takes off from the main office and will incorporate a lesson on Westchester’s flora and fauna.
A weed-management session will be held on Saturday, June 14, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Barn F. Registration is required and costs $20 per person or $5 per child aged eight to 12.
Chef Karen Muendell leads a couple’s cooking class on Friday, June 20, at 7 p.m. in Barn F. Online registration is required and costs $95 per couple.
A tour of Hilltop Hanover will be held on Saturday, June 21, from 11 a.m. to noon in Barn F.
A Kid’s Cooking Class will be held on Saturday, June 21, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Barn F. Children can harvest vegetables from the garden and cook them for meals. Registration is required and costs $15 per child aged from eight to 12.
The Wild Edibles Dinner session on Friday, June 27, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. will center on learning how to identify and cook species found in local forests, fields and wetlands. Online registration is required and costs $20 per person.
An herbal salves workshop will be held on Saturday, June 28, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Barn F. Registration is required and costs $20 per person.
Chef Rinku Bhattacharya will lead a spicy-vegan cooking workshop on Saturday, June 28, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Barn F. Registration is required and costs $20 per person.
