YORKTOWN, N.Y. While the "Cat in the Hat" may not look to have aged a day since parents first read him as a kid, his friends on Mulberry Street are celebrating the 75th anniversary of being published at the Jefferson Valley Mall this weekend.
This Saturday, the mall invites families to attend the 75th anniversary of Theodor Seuss Geisels first book And to Think That I saw it on Mulberry Street, celebrated by the Simon Kidgits Club, Dr. Seuss Enterprises L.P. and Random House Childrens Books.
The event, aptly titled 75 Years of Imagination, takes place from 2-3 p.m. in the center court, where families can participate in an in-mall book reading, a picture in front of a Mulberry street-theme backdrop, the opportunity for a photo with the Cat in the Hat himself, decorating Mulberry Street bookmarks and more. The book reading will be done by Yorktowns own story-teller and superintendent Ralph Napolitano.
