Latest Forecast: Yorktown Should See A Bit Less Snow Than Expected

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Snow began to fall at about daybreak Tuesday, and pockets of light to moderate snow will track across Westchester County as the day wears on, the National Weather Service said.

But there is some good news. Projections that parts of Westchester could receive as much as 6 inches or more of snow now seem unlikely.

The latest forecast from the National Weather Service is predicting 2 to 4 inches of snow accumulation for most of Westchester, with some areas seeing between 1 and 3 inches.

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in place until 6 p.m. Tuesday across the Hudson Valley, New York City, most of Connecticut, Long Island and northern New Jersey.

Temperatures will rise into the 30s by late morning, and the snow could begin to mix with rain by afternoon.

The area will be getting some warmer weather later this week, with a chance that the huge piles of snow will begin melting.

The forecast for Wednesday includes a chance of daytime rain with a high in the 40s. Thursday will be partly sunny with a high in the 40s. Rain arrives Thursday night and continues at times Friday with spring-like temperatures in the 50s.
