Man, 36, Charged In Knifepoint Robbery In Yorktown

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A 36-year-old Yorktown man has been apprehended allegedly committing a knifepoint robbery at Railroad Park on Friday night, Yorktown Police said.

Officers who arrived received a description of the suspect from both the victim and an eyewitness, and quickly located a man matching that description near 240 Underhill Avenue.

A man called 911 at approximately 8 p.m. saying he had been robbed of a gold chain and crucifix in the park near the Underhill Apartments, police said.

Officers who arrived received a description of the suspect from both the victim and an eyewitness, and quickly located a man matching that description near 240 Underhill Avenue. 

Ramon Morales of Yorktown was charged with robbery in the first degree, a Class B felony. A search warrant for Morales' apartment was obtained and officers recovered the knife allegedly used in the robbery and the stolen property.

Morales was held at Yorktown Police Headquarters for arraignment Saturday morning.
