Somers Man Charged in Assault With Metal Foot Measurer

YORKTOWN, N.Y.—A Somers man was arrested and charged with a felony after he allegedly struck another man in the head with a metal foot measurer at a shoe store.

Police arrested 21-year-old Sylvester Salzano for assault in the second degree, a felony, in connection with the alleged incident inside the Finish Line at the Jefferson Valley Mall. Police said Salzano allegedly struck a male Shrub Oak resident with the metal foot measurer inside the store, causing a laceration to the victim’s head. Salzano then allegedly fled the scene, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Salzano appeared in Yorktown Court Wednesday on an unrelated matter and was arrested in regard to the prior warrant. He was released on $1,000 bail and is schedule to answer the charge in Yorktown Court Thursday.
