Man Charged with Attempted Identity Theft

YORKTOWN, N.Y.—A Bronx man is in Westchester County Jail after he allegedly tried to withdraw cash from another person’s bank account after trying to assume their identity, police said.

Police arrested 26-year-old Jeffrey Delossantos and charged him with attempted identify theft in the first degree and criminal possession of a forged instrument, both felonies. On March 17, police responded to a report of an identity theft at TD Bank, and their investigation revealed Delossantos allegedly assumed the identity of the TD Bank account holder and attempted to withdraw $2,500 in cash. He allegedly was in possession of a forged New Jersey driver’s license, police said.

Delossantos was sent to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail and is due to at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Yorktown Justice Court.
