YORKTOWN, N.Y.A Bronx man is in Westchester County Jail after he allegedly tried to withdraw cash from another persons bank account after trying to assume their identity, police said.
Police arrested 26-year-old Jeffrey Delossantos and charged him with attempted identify theft in the first degree and criminal possession of a forged instrument, both felonies. On March 17, police responded to a report of an identity theft at TD Bank, and their investigation revealed Delossantos allegedly assumed the identity of the TD Bank account holder and attempted to withdraw $2,500 in cash. He allegedly was in possession of a forged New Jersey drivers license, police said.
Delossantos was sent to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail and is due to at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Yorktown Justice Court.
