YORKTOWN, N.Y. A Wappingers Falls resident was arrested and charged by New York State Police with driving while intoxicated, police said.
Police said at about 4 a.m. Sunday, Christopher Avenius, 36, was pulled over for a broken headlight on the Taconic State Parkway. Avenius took a breath test at the Stormville state police barracks, which indicated he had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.13 percent, according to police. He was released with tickets to appear in the Town of Yorktown Court on Jan. 18.
Avenius was one of nine drivers charged with driving while intoxicated or driving while ability impaired by drugs between Jan. 7 and 8 by New York State Police in the area.
