JEFFERSON VALLEY, N.Y. - Simon Property Group recently appointed Ken Hamilton as the new general manager at Jefferson Valley Mall.
Hamilton, who lives in Waldwick, N.J., has 27 years of experience in operations, facilities and property management. Since joining Simon Property Group in 2006, he has held various management positions with the company's New Jersey properties, including Menlo Park Mall in Edison and Newport Centre in Jersey City.
"I am excited to assume the general manager position at Jefferson Valley Mall," said Hamilton, who holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Hofstra University. "The center is very attractive from a management perspective and I look forward to building on the successes that the Jefferson Valley team has already achieved and continuing to expand our role as a vital member of the Yorktown Heights business community."
Hamilton's background also includes serving as director of standards and housekeeping for Macy's flagship store in Manhattan's Herald Square. He also held management positions at Victoria's Secret and Sears.

I lived in New Jersey many years. The Menlo Park Mall is great and better than the Danbury Mall. So give this guy a chance to help our dying and decaying. Mall.
I find this interesting [who holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Hofstra University.] Usually you find a manager with a MBA or some other business degree, don't you? Looks like a long 40 mile commute for him. I wish him luck in turning the mall around. He may want to take a trip to Danbury, CT and see the mall there. and pay special attention to the Macy's there. The town council may also want to take notice of it also when it comes to suggestions to expand Macy's. Any modernization of the Jefferson Valley mall should include an expansion of Macy's. We need at least ONE quality high end store in the area.
Good luck Ken! Save our Mall! Get the movie theatre back! Fill up the food court! We don't want to go to Danbury Mall if we don't have to!
