Planning Board OKs New Front Street Project

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Citizens for an Informed Yorktown Planning Board offers the following highlights of Monday's meeting:

1: Marathon Development, Kear Street: The board approved a SEQRA negative declaration but postponed a vote on an approving resolution until the two new members get up to speed on the application and can vote. 

2: JCPC Holdings, Front Street: The board approved the site plan after making some changes to conditions in the draft resolution. 

This project encompasses the relocation of the Town of Yorktown Highway Garage from its present location at the corner of Front Street and Underhill Avenue in the center of the Yorktown Heights hamlet to town owned land on Greenwood Street near NYS Route 202/35., according to yorktownny.org.

3: Shaiken parcel, Wooded Hill Court off Hog Hill Road: A property owner on the New Castle border and in the Yorktown School District wants to buy a piece a land in New Castle that will enable his children to attend Chappaqua schools. 

4: Orchard View Subdivision, Sherry Drive: The board reviewed a series of comments in a memo from the Planning Department including the recreation fee and an affordable housing unit. 

5: Sparks Steakhouse, Old Crompond Road: A Public Informational Hearing on an amended site plan will be scheduled in June.
