Plant, Pickle and Play in Yorktown This Weekend

At Hilltop Hanover Farm , there are three different programs on Saturday to keep you occupied and outside. To register, call 914-962-2368 ext. two.

- A Woodlands Hike will start at 10 a.m. and end at noon. Hikers can explore 3.5 miles of woodlands and trails at the farm. The hike is free and will be cancelled if there is rain.

-From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. hopeful-gardeners can attend “Planning your Late Season Vegetable Garden,” which teaches how to plant a late season vegetable garden and keep vegetables fresh into the late fall. The fee is $20 per person and $5 for children.

- A Pickling and Jam-Making 101 class will begin at 1 p.m. and end at 4 p.m. Participants will learn how to preserve vegetables such as cucumbers. The fee is $25 per person.

“Little Shop of Horrors” will complete its run at Yorktown Stage this weekend. Performances on Saturday begin at 8 p.m. and at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Chess Club for ages 7 and up will be held at the John C. Hart Memorial Library starting at 10:30 on Saturday.
