Police: Woman, 72, Fatally Struck by Car in Yorktown Monday Morning

YORKTOWN, N.Y. – A 72-year-old woman was struck and killed by an automobile early Monday morning on Ridge Street, Yorktown Police said.

According to police, at approximately 8:45 a.m. Monday, a 17-year-old male was driving a 1998 Toyota, which “left the roadway briefly and struck the pedestrian.” The woman was pronounced deceased at approximately 12:45 p.m. at Hudson Valley Hospital Center, police said.

The Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps and local police responded to the scene. Police said they are not releasing the identity of the woman until the next of kin is contacted.

The Yorktown Police Department Accident Investigation Team said it is actively investigating the one-car accident.
