Raniolo Receives Yorktown Congress of Teachers Endorsement

YORKTOWN, N.Y.—Candidate for Yorktown Town Justice (R, C, I), Gary Raniolo, has received the endorsement of the Yorktown Congress of Teachers.

Raniolo, who is running against incumbent Ilan Gilbert, said he was proud and honored to be recognized.

“My campaign has highlighted the importance of focusing on our youth in the judicial process, and particularly the need for family involvement when young people are involved in judicial proceedings” Raniolo said. “Having the support of the Yorktown Congress of Teachers, who play a major role with our young people in the classroom is a major benefit, for which I am very appreciative.”

President of the Yorktown Congress of Teachers, Sean Kennedy, said endorsements from his organization are usually only made when it comes to candidate who can directly influence the schools themselves, but said in the past they have endorsed town councilmen, as well as other justices for their positions.

“The ideas he has would be good for kids, and be good for the families which led us to give him the endorsement,” Kennedy said. “He’s about trying to really do what’s in the best interest for families, and he has ideas about community service and family involvement, and those things really resonated.”

Raniolo said he owes the success of his children to the Yorktown education system.

“None of the academic and professional success my children have achieved to date would have been possible without the tireless efforts of the Yorktown education community,” he said. “That’s why this endorsement means so much to me, and hopefully to the Yorktown voters as well.”
