YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Route 6 will close in both directions Thursday night between Barger and Mill streets.

The road will remain closed from 8 p.m. to midnight so Verizon can repair downed wires, Yorktown police said in an alert. Police recommend using East Main Street as a detour.

WESTCHESTER, N.Y. - The National Weather Service posted a thunderstorm warning for southern Westchester County at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday.

The storms could be accompanied by lightning, hail and high winds of up to 50 mph, the weather service said.

Bacteria ID'd As Cause Of Westchester Food Event Illnesses

VALHALLA, N.Y. – The bacteria that sickened some festival-goers who attended Westchester’s Burger and Beer Bash at Kensico Dam in Valhalla earlier this month has been identified as Campylobacter, the county department of health announced Monday.
