  • The SPCA Walkathon and Fair was held Saturday at FDR State Park in Yorktown Heights. The Walkathon and Pet Fair make up the Briarcliff Manor-based SPCA’s largest fundraiser of the year.
  • Thanks to Yorktown 8-year-old Hannah Devane and support from local state lawmakers a new proposed law would "require certain health insurance policies to include coverage for the cost of enteral formulas for the treatment" of Hannah's condition called eosinophilic esophagitis. The law, known as Hannah's Law or S2287, recently unanimously passed the Senate but an Assembly vote is still pending.
  • More than 100 Westchester County residents packed Bedford Town Court House Wednesday night, as town supervisors, housing agencies and land use law experts weighed in on Westchester County’s affordable housing situation.
