YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Yorktown Police Officer, detective and an officer with the US Secret Service arrested a 22-year-old man in Yonkers last week on three felony charges of possession of a forged instrument.
Police said on July 23 they were summoned to a business in Shrub Oak where a man allegedly tried to pass a counterfeit $20 bill and stole a tip jar containing an estimated $8. A police investigation found that the suspect, later identified as Jordan A. Hack of 113 Sunnyside Dr. in Yonkers, tried to pass the same bill at two other businesses.
Last Wednesday police arrested Hack for the crimes at about 10:10 p.m. During the arrest, he was also found to be in possession of a small amount of cocaine, which then resulted in a misdemeanor charge of criminal possession of controlled substance.
Hack was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in Yorktown court on Sept. 1 at 6 p.m.
