Snow Knocks Out Power to Thousands in Yorktown

YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Thousands are without power in Yorktown due to heavy snow and swift windsl. NYSEG reports three-fourths of its customers are without power, and nearly ten percent are without power from Con Edison’s reports.

NYSEG reports that 5,666 customers of its 7,553 in Yorktown are without power. Con Edison reports that 693 of its 8,173 are without power. There are no estimate for when power will be restored. Residents are advised to stay in their homes, and only travel when necessary, until roads are cleared of snow and downed trees.
