The book group will take place on Thursday, Feb. 26, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cheryl R. Lindenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center at Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt Manor.
Join the group as participants discuss the purpose of life, love and leaving a mark on the world as seen through the eyes of two remarkable teenagers finding their way together.
“John Green tells the story of two teenagers with cancer who are struggling to find their place and purpose in this world," said Zachary Oswanski of the ALAN Review. "Hazel and Augustus meet in a support group, but they gain far more than support. They gain a sense of purpose and find out what it means to be not dying of cancer but living with it.”
The discussion leader will be Amy Curran Baker, author of "Now What? Guide to Recovery After Mastectomy." Future books will be chosen by participants; suggestions will be welcomed.
The discussion is open to women living with breast, ovarian and other gynecological cancers.
Pre-registration is required. To learn more or pre-register, call Support Connection at 914-962-6402 or 800-532-4290.
