Swim, Sing or Celebrate This Weekend in Yorktown

Those looking for something to do this weekend in Yorktown don’t have to look far. Here’s a list of events and activities:

The first in the Summer Concert Series in John “Jack” DeVito Park will take place Sunday at 6 p.m.. The series will kick off with a Bruce Springsteen Tribute band. The event, hosted by the Yorktown Lion’s Club and the Yorktown Parks & Recreation Department, is free of charge and will feature a new band each Sunday throughout the summer.

This weekend is the time for graduations and Walter Panas High School, Lakeland High School and Yorktown High School will each hold commencement ceremonies Saturday. The WPHS graduation will take place at the Westchester County Center at 10 a.m.  The YHS event will take place at SUNY Purchase at 1 p.m. and the LHS ceremony will take place at the Westchester County Center at 2 p.m.

The fair is in town through this weekend.  Friday’s hours are 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The swimming pool at Franklin D. Roosevelt state park opens this weekend. Starting Saturday, you can visit the pool weekdays and weekends. Check out the website for specific hours of operation.
