YORKTOWN, N.Y.-- The warm weather has set in, and its time to explore the great outdoors. Check out these ideas for some fun (and affordable) trips this weekend.
- "Little Shop of Horrors" will take the stage this weekend and next at the Yorktown Stage.
- Children ages seven and up can take part in the Chess Club on Saturday at the John C. Hart Memorial Library starting at 10:30 a.m.
- Hilltop Hanover farm had planned to will hold U-Pick from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, but that has now been canceled due to hot weather concerns. Officials with Hilltop Hanover says the farm stand, however, will be open.
-The farm this weekend is holding a pasta & mozzarella making class. From 2 to 4 p.m. in Barn F join Chef Ed Trotta of Trottas Pasta shop in Thornwood to make your own pasta and fresh mozzarella. Registration is required, and as of Thursday all positions are filled, but organizers are taking names for placement on the waiting list.
- Attend the Summer Concert at the Gazebo this Sunday as Symphonic Soul takes the stage. The show, hosted by the Yorktown Lions Club and the Yorktown Parks and Recreation Department, begins at 6 p.m. at the John Jack DeVito Gazebo on Veterans Road; the rain location is Yorktown Stage.
