Wellness Retreat For Women With Breast, Ovarian Cancer In Yorktown

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Support Connection in Yorktown announced plans to hold a retreat for women with breast, ovarian and gynecological cancer on Saturday, May 16.

“Healthy Cooking and Mindfulness: A Wellness Retreat” will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown Heights.

The retreat will be split into two parts. The morning section will concentrate on how to put together healthy meals for the family with an eye towards boosting energy. Holistic coaches Karen Rigney and Sheila Emery Murphy will run the cooking session.

After lunch from food prepared in the morning, the afternoon session will be led by Support Connection counselors Robin Perlmutter and Marlene Stager. The pair will talk about the strengths of mindfulness and being able to take control of one's life.
