BEDFORD HILLS, N.Y. — Starting this month, Westchester Land Trust, located in Bedford Hills, will have Jonathan Wiesner as its new board chairperson, the company stated in a press release. Wiesner succeeds George Bianco, who had held the seat since 2007.

“I look forward to working with our dedicated board and accomplished staff as we move forward with our strategic planning and our continued goal of conserving,” Wiesner said.

Previously for the company, Wiesner had acted as a board member from 2007 through 2009 and served as the treasurer in 2010.  After becoming vice chairperson in 2011, Wiesner took the leap in 2012 and assumed the full role of chairperson.  Aside from his work at the trust, Wiesner is the principal and CEO of Sustainable Apparel Group, LLC., also known as Threads for Thought.

Land Trust will be saying so long to Bianco, which is no easy task. Under his regime, the company moved its offices to Bedford Hills, began the Farmer’s Network, and preserved 1,090 acres, which places the total at more than 7,500 acres preserved.

Welcome, Local farming is a great way to add a public benefit to the private income tax loophole of conservation easements. Now, please help clean up the automotive body shop dump and the rest of the toxic garbage strewn throughout the Levy Preserve for decades and left there when the WLT arranged the sale to the Town according to the WLT/s own draft management report..
