What's Happening Around Yorktown This Weekend

YORKTOWN, N.Y. — It's a weekend of laughter, music and family fun in and around Yorktown.

  • On Friday, April 13, "A Comedy for a Cause" fundraiser to benefit Relay for Life will be held at Solaris Sports Club on Veterans Road in Yorktown. $15 per person.
  • Also on Friday, at the Paramount Center for the Arts in Peekskill, folk singer Judy Collins will take the stage at 8 p.m. Tickets $25-$45. 914-739-2333.
  • On Saturday, April 14, the Yorktown Athletic Club will hold its annual parade and picnic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Navajo Fields in Jefferson Valley.
  • Yorktown resident Susan Berliner will discuss her new novel, "Peachwood Lake," on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the John C. Hart Memorial Library in Shrub Oak.
  • From 6:30 to 9:30 on Saturday, the Alliance for Safe Kids Teen Night will take place at Solaris Sports Club for students in grades 6-8. Music, basketball competitions, dance sessions, pizza and snacks. $10 tickets in advance. $15 at the door.
