What's Happening This Weekend in Yorktown

YORKTOWN, N.Y. - Car enthusiasts will have two opportunities Saturday to enjoy the outdoors and get a glimpse of some new and old-model vehicles as part of this weekend's festivities.

Saturday, June 2

Farmers Market: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Yorktown Farmers Market to benefit Yorktown Teen Center. Field behind Yorktown Fire Department, Commerce Street.

Chamber Car Show: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Yorktown Chamber of Commerce First Auto Show. Approximately 15 local dealerships will display between 75 and 90 models of 2012 and 2013 cars. Live music. Jefferson Valley Mall parking lot.

Grange Car Show: 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. The Yorktown Grange Tractor Club hosts its annual car show. Open to all cars, trucks, motorcycles and antique machines. Food, prizes, awards and hayrides. Spectators, $2 per car. 99 Moseman Rd.

Museum Baseball Display: 1 - 4 p.m. Baseball historian Bob Mayer will display his collection of artifacts at Yorktown Museum in the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center in an exhibit called "Spring Fever." Free admission. 1974 Commerce St.

Sunday, June 3

Celebrate Life Day: Noon - 3 p.m. Support Connection's Ninth Annual Celebrate Life Day, to commemorate National Cancer Survivors' Day. Inspirational speakers, musical entertainment and lunch. Free for cancer survivors, small fee for guests. Travelers Rest, Route 100.
