What's Happening In Yorktown This Weekend

YORKTOWN, N.Y. – A fundraising car wash and a home run derby are among events happening Saturday in the Yorktown area.

Saturday, Aug. 4

Farmers Market: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Weekly Yorktown Farmers Market featuring many local vendors will be held behind the Yorktown Fire Department, 1916 Commerce Street.

Car Wash: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Yorktown Love in Action will have a fundraising car wash at The Grace Building, 360 Underhill Ave. Cars $6 donation, vans/SUVs $8 donation.

Fresh Veggies: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Visitors to Hilltop Hanover Farm can pick their own vegetables or choose from the farm stand. 1277 Hanover St.

Cooking Class: 10 a.m. - noon. Susan Hubbard will give tips on cooking for family and friends who have various food allergies. Gluten-free cooking also. Hilltop Hanover Farm, 1277 Hanover St..

Batters Up: 4 p.m. Support Connection Home Run Derby for a Cause. $25 donation per participant, $10 spectators. Participants receive a free T-shirt. Music, mascots and concession stand. Proceeds benefit Support Connection. Peekskill Stadium, Louisa Street, Peekskill.

Going Batty: 7:30 - 9 p.m. Teatown Lake Reservation Going Batty program. No children under 6. Learn about bats and the white-nose syndrome. Free for members, $5 nonmembers. Teatown Lake Reservation, 1600 Spring Valley Road, Yorktown.
