Woman Attempts Robbery at Mohegan Store

YORKTOWN, N.Y.-- A woman from Mohegan Lake faces the felony charge of attempted robbery after she allegedly tried to steal cash from the store clerk at Tropical Fantasy Tanning.

Police responded to the call at 1887 East Main St. at approximately 7:04 p.m. Tuesday night.

Police investigation revealed the woman, Pauline M. Cleary, 30, of 3308 Stony St. tried to steal cash from the store clerk while reporting she had a gun. She then fled the scene without obtaining any of the cash.

The police broadcast a description of the suspect to neighboring police, and she was found a short time later in the Cortlandt Town Center. She was also positively identified by the store employee.

She was served with a temporary order of protection and released on $1,000 bail. She is scheduled to answer the charge in Yorktown Court on September 8 at 6 p.m.

-       An 18-year-old from Yorktown was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police stopped the individual’s vehicle for operating with bald tires and found him to be in possession of marijuana. He was issue da uniform traffic summons, and an appearance ticket to appear in court on September 27 at 6 p.m.

-       52-year-old Henry R. Anderson of Bronx, NY faces a felony charge of criminal mischief after he allegedly ripped various items off the walls at 3271 Marcy St. causing damage in excess of $250.

-       Blake C. Cardona, 22, of 1 Overhill Rd. was arrested on August 26 at approximately 1:45 p.m. after he allegedly removed three shirts, valued at $87.46 from a store display and exited the store without paying for the merchandise. He was issued an appearance ticket, released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in court on September 27 at 6 p.m.

-       Police arrested an 18-year-old Yorktown resident for unlawful possession of marijuana. Police were investigating a vehicle and traffic violation on Route. 202 in the vicinity of Hamblyn Dr. During this investigation, police allegedly discovered a small amount of marijuana possessed by the teen. He was released on his own recognizance on the scene. HE is due to appear in court on October 4 at 6 p.m.
