YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Yorktown Town Board members unanimously approved rezoning a portion of Route 202 for commercial development, according to a report from The Examiner

The board approved the rezoning of about 30 acres to allow State Land Corporation to pursue about 230,000 square feet of commercial space through the planning process, according to the report.

The town does not own the properly in question. It's not like they could refuse to let the owner build something. Would you rather have houses there? And the town has plenty of town owned open space already.

This board is out of control. Open space is going out the window. What next? They approved houses being built on the reservoir, anything for a buck THIS IS YORKTOWN, NOT WHITE TRASH YONKERS. Stop destroying every scrap of woods. It's time to look at this Town board next election- enough is enough.
