YORKTOWN, N.Y. Two Yorktown Board of Education members will face no opposition when they run for reelection next month.
Board President Jackie Carbone and Trustee Christine Montero were the lone candidates to submit petitions by the April 16 deadline for the May 15 district-wide election, according to District Clerk Rebecca Narvaez.
Carbone has been on the board since 2006 and is running for a third three-year term.
Montero is running for her first full three-year term. She was appointed Sept. 19, 2011 to fill the unexpired term of Trustee Mark Drexel, who resigned after a five-year stint due to increased work commitments.
Residents do have a reason to go to the polls on May 15 since the 2012-13 school budget will be on the ballot for approval.
