YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Slowing down drivers in school zones is the topic of a public hearing set by the Yorktown town board in a recent June 27 work session.

Meeting highlights included:

  • The board gave the library the go ahead for a $19,000 building repair project.
  • The board reviewed a revised $560,000 contract with General Code for the digitizing project and expects to approve the contract at its next meeting.
  • The board authorized the expense of $16,900 for the installation of three street lights in Railroad Park.
The public hearing July 19 is regarding a proposed local law that would establish a speed limit of 15 miles per hour in Yorktown school zones.
