Yorktown Man Arrested for Allegedly Choking Female

YORKTOWN, N.Y.-- A 23-year-old Yorktown man has been charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, a misdemeanor.

According to Police, Sean M. Burns allegedly choked a female during a domestic dispute on July 2. Police responded to a call from a female reporting a domestic incident on Deer Street and located the female from New York City, who alleged being involved in a domestic dispute.

Burns was served with a temporary order of protection and was released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to answer the charge in Yorktown Court on July 26.

-       A 19-year-old Yorktown resident has been charged with criminal nuisance in the second degree after he allegedly allowed numerous persons under the age of 21 to consume alcoholic beverages inside his residence on July 4. The male, Charles Barbieri, was arrested at the scene and taken to police headquarters, where he was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Yorktown Court on August 4. He was released on his own recognizance to his parents.

-       An 18-year-old male from Charlotte, N.C. was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana on July 3. Police observed the vehicle occupied by the male whose name has been withheld due to his eligibility for Youthful Offender status, and found the male in possession of marijuana. He was brought to police headquarters and issued an appearance ticket to answer the charge in Yorktown Court on August 4 and released on his own recognizance.

-       A 17-year-old Jefferson Valley male is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. The male, whose name is not being released because of his eligibility for youthful offender status, was arrested on July 5 after police observed a suspicious parked vehicle on Orchard Road. He was processed and issued an appearance ticket to answer the charge on August 4. He was released on his own recognizance to a parent.
