Yorktown Museum Examines Celebrations Through Time

YORKTOWN, N.Y. – The Yorktown Museum has a current exhibit showing the snapshots of time that take place during the holiday season.

Nancy Augustowski, museum archivist, said the different shelves and sections of the exhibit show a different holiday or time during the holiday season and many show different holiday celebrations in times past.

"Going through it, you see that holidays like Christmas weren't always as big or religious as they are now," Augustowski said.

Some of the different displays feature an assortment of winter hats, different holiday tales and books, dolls, toys and different versions of Santa Claus.

The museum will have its showing of the exhibit at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, in conjunction with a visit from puppeteer Jim Kroupa. The event requires visitors to pre-register.
